Campbell Soup Company is a global manu-

facturer and marketer of high-quality foods in

over 120 countries. They have twenty produc-

nnnn

tion facilities and 18,000 employees around

nnnn

the world. Headquartered in Camden, New

nnnn

Jersey, they operate a corporate flight department

nnnn

at the nearby New Castle, Delaware airport,

nnnn

which efficiently expedites executives to

nnnn

operations anywhere in the world.

nnnn

The flight department operated a Gulfstream

nnnn

G-IV in their 117' (35.7 m)-wide hangar. In

nnnn

order to meet the increased international travel

nnnn

demands of the organization, Campbell Soup

nnnn

ordered a new Gulfstream G-550, with a range

nnnn

of 6,750 nautical miles. However, although

nnnn

the hangar was wide enough to accommodate

nnnn

the new aircraft, its access into the hangar was

nnnn

prevented by the rolling door pocket, which

nnnn

restricted the door opening to 90' (27.4 m).

nnnn

During the National Business Aviation

nnnn

Association (NBAA) tradeshow, we had the

nnnn

opportunity to meet with Jeff Bennett, Director

nnnn

of Flight Operations at Campbell Soup.

nnnn

While he was visiting our company's booth,

nnnn

we introduced him to the Megadoor system,

nnnn

which could be retrofitted to the building

nnnn

and eliminated the need for a door pocket,

nnnn

thereby providing a door opening that spanned

nnnn

almost the entire width of the hangar. Jeff and

nnnn

his team immediately saw the potential benefits

nnnn

of this solution, but, in order to become more

nnnn

familiar with the Megadoor concept, quality

nnnn

and organization, we invited them over for a visit

nnnn

and tour of Megadoor Americas' headquarters

nnnn

and manufacturing facility. The group flew into

nnnn

the Atlanta Regional Airport (KFFC), adjacent

nnnn

to Megadoor, for about three hours of meetings

nnnn

and tours, which included the opportunity to

nnnn

review an almost identical hangar installation,

nnnn

at the local airport. This allowed them to

nnnn

become fully confident in the benefits presented

nnnn

by the Megadoor solution and, to make things

nnnn

better, they were able to fly home in time for

nnnn

dinner with their families.
