nnnnBSP-MT1-8 heatless adsorption dryers
nnnnwith integral purification and catalytic
nnnnstages are designed to treat com-
nnnnpressed air reliably and efficiently to
nnnnmeet the medical breathing air requi-
nnnnrements of the European Pharmacopia
nnnnand other relevant specifications. The
nnnnunits are constructed in a compact
nnnnmanner and designed to be free-stan-
nnnnding. They are equipped with built-on
nnnnpre- and after filtration and are sized
nnnnfor volumetric flows of up to 139 m3/h
nnnn(suction capacity of the compressor
nnnnreferring to a compression of 13 barj.
nnnnCompressed air first enters the va-
nnnnlidated GL pre-filter into one of two
nnnntwin-profiles; both filled with a speci-
nnnnfic drying-agent. One chamber dries
nnnnand removes harmful vapours from
nnnnthe compressed air while the other
nnnnchamber undergoes regeneration.
nnnnAt the start of the drying-cycle, this
nnnnchamber is open to atmosphere and a
nnnnsmall proportion of dried compressed
nnnnair passes through the adsorption bed,
nnnntransporting the humidity and harmful
nnnnvapours out. When this procedure is
nnnncomplete, the vessel is re-pressurised
nnnnin readiness to repeat the drying
nnnnprocedure. Continuous, uninterrup-
nnnnted operation is maintained utilising
nnnnso-called pressure-swing technology
nnnntogether with individually operated
nnnnmain- and exhaust valves.

nnnnDry compressed air subsequently
nnnnenters the integral purification and
nnnncatalytic stage where oil-vapour,
nnnnodours, gaseous vapours and traces
nnnnof carbon-monoxide are reliably remo-
nnnnved. Finally, the clean, treated air exits
nnnnvia the validated GL after-filter into the
nnnndownstream compressed air network.
nnnnThe BSP-MT1-8 Breathing-air treat-
nnnnment system operates a fixed, timed
nnnnchangeover-cycle between the two
nnnndryer chambers. Where the applica-
nnnntion requires additional monitoring,
nnnnthe installation of a dew point sensor
nnnnis available as an option: The chosen
nnnnpressure dew point settings (changeo-
nnnnver set-point) allow the changeover
nnnntimes of the individual vessels to be
nnnnadjusted to meet operating require-
nnnnments whilst providing reliable mo-
nnnnnitoring of the dryers performance.
nnnnAn adjustable alarm is available via
nnnnvoltage-free signal.
