Flushing Valve for
Pump Sumps
FV 25 / FV 50
Application:
The new HOMA flushing valve prevents
the building up of grease and solids in
pump sumps. It is an easy and effective
alternative to regular mechanical
desludging, and reduces not only
downtime but also operational cost of
submersible pump stations.
Function:
Every time the pump starts, the valve
is opened and a part of the pumped
liquid is blown through a jet nozzle into
the sump, flushing all solids into
suspension, so that they are pumped
away within the pumping cycle.
The jet nozzle can be alternatively
directed either towards the sump
bottom to prevent sedimentation, or
towards the upper liquid level to prevent
the building up of a scum layer at the
top of liquids with high grease contents.
Installation:
The flushing valve can be easily
fitted between the standard DIN / ANSI
discharge flange of any HOMA
submersible pump and the discharge
pipe. Adapter-kits are available for
DN 50 / 1 1/2“ up to DN 150 / 6“ pipe
diameter. On bigger pumps, the flushing
valve can be flanged directly at the
pump housing, by using an one-size
adapter flange.
Installation
Mode of operation:
The valve is operated by using the
venturi effect and pressure
difference. It works without any
additional energy input or control. The
flushing time can be individually
adjusted.
