The roots of today's KINEMATICA began in the former chemical/physical research institute of Prof. P. Willems in Luzern, the father of modern dispersion and homogenization technology. Since the middle of the 20th century, the essential fundamentals of kinematic high frequency technology have been developed there. Based on Prof. Willems' ground-breaking development work specifically in the area of rotor/stator technology, it was possible to revolutionize important applications in the chemical, pharmaceutical and food industry. Since then, it became possible to produce suspensions, emulsions and foams more efficiently, economically and with significantly improved quality using his ideas. His discoveries led to a a vast number of international patents and an ever increasing international awareness of this specific area of mechanical processing technology. Due to the growing worldwide demand, Kinematica was founded in 1962 in cooperation with the research institute, to provide the best possible service to customers worldwide.
Today, KINEMATICA is one of the leading suppliers of instruments and machines in the field of dispersing technology for laboratory, pilot plant and production applications throughout the world.
KINEMATICA products include laboratory dispersing units with operating volumes less than 0.1 ml up to production machines with throughputs of about 300,000 l/h. All of this is done with rotor/stator systems with diameters from 3 mm up to 450 mm. These units can achieve tip speeds of up to 50 m/s which is the highest found in the current market place and shear rates up to 300,000 per second.
We offer customers a one-stop shopping for particle size reduction solutions. In addition to our rotor/stator homogenizers, we also offer cutting and hammer mills, overhead stirrers, viscometers, temperature and pressure monitoring devices, as well as the accessories necessary to perform the requested application.
In the pilot and production area, we can offer complete "turnkey" solutions for dispersing and mixing process steps, including vessels with different stirrer systems, pumps, piping and requested control technology.
All of our products are developed and built according to international guidelines and standards and comply with highest safety standards. In the food sector, we have "3A" certification and can also manufacture according to the general GMP guidelines as requested by customers.
In close collaboration with our customers, their application specifications as well as product requirements, the representatives of our Global Sales Task Force (GSTF), our product specialists and process and design engineers develop a suitable Kinematica solution. They utilize products with our brand names POLYTRON®, BIOTRONA®, POLYMIX®, MEGATRON®, REACTRON® or ATOMIX®. Based on our expertise and engineering capacities, we can also support with additional engineering and support services.
