nnnnAluminium bars made of
nnnnFeram/AL® 7075
nnnnThe ring-compressed edge layer of FeramAL 7075 provides
nnnnhigh flexural rigidity and high dynamic strength.
nnnnMost aluminium bars made today are only cold-hardened
nnnnin the axial direction. In contrast, the edge layers of the
nnnnFeramAL aluminium bars are compressed in both the
nnnnaxial and radial direction. This method increases the
nnnnVickers hardness (diamond penetrator hardness) of the
nnnnedge zone up to 20 per cent (see table 1). In addition
nnnnto that, the brittle aluminium-oxide layers are broken
nnnnoff during compression and surface irregularities are
nnnnevened out. Finally, the processed bar gets a highly
nnnncompressed and perfect edge zone with stable features
nnnnunder pressure while retaining a tough core.
nnnnRound bars made of EN AW 7075 T6 alloy according
nnnnto DIN 573-3, are used as base material.
