Application
In combination with SCHATZ Analyse testXpert® and the Model
5413-2777/xx test and measurement unit, this mechanical jig
can be used to perform tests in compliance with ISO 16047,
ISO 2320 and other standards for screws and bolts with
diameters up to M24.
The test specimens, transducers and drive unit are mounted on
the mechanical unit.
The horizontally arranged mechanical system has a fixed
brushless drive unit with a motor that can deliver a maximum
torque of up to 1000 N·m, depending on the model used.
Torque/angle transducers can be conveniently fitted and
exchanged. The carriage for mounting the tension and threadtorque transducers can be easily moved and manually clamped
in position.

Description
The base frame is constructed in the form of a ladder frame
using aluminum extrusions. The carriage for mounting the
tension and thread-torque transducers is supported on
recirculating ball-bearing guides.
An adjustable gas spring mounted on a guide automatically
returns the carriage to its original position during testing.
A quick-adjustment clamping fixture on the carriage can be
used to secure the tool insert or screw against being forced
out.
For assembling bolted joints for standard production items,
the carriage can also be used without torque/angle
transducers.
Suitable square-drive adapters can be fitted to the output
shaft of the drive unit to accept a variety of torque/angle
transducers. The transducer housing is secured against
twisting by an adjustable holding fixture.
