The Trend of IP-based Surveillance

Owing to the digital format in which video is recorded, IP-based

surveillance provides a number of advantages over that based on

older CCTV technology. These advantages include improved

search capabilities, higher video quality with no degradation over

time, the ability to simultaneously record live video and play back

previously recorded footage, and the ability to compress video to

reduce storage requirements.

The network connectivity of IP cameras enables improved remote

access, ease of distribution, storage flexibility, and integration

with communications systems such as email. As a result of the

clear superiority of IP surveillance systems over CCTV-based

solutions, the former is rapidly supplanting the latter for virtually

all security applications.

AegisSAN V100 is the SAN storage series designed for surveillance

and delivers ultra price/performance for entry-level options. The

series supports up to 200 IP cameras and offers easy-to-use

management tools to do central management for all the

surveillance systems. AegisSAN V100 disk array provides great

scalability supporting up to 192 hard drives and its

enterprise-grade performance enables the system to handle the

surveillance workload satisfactorily.

Backup & Archive

AegisSAN V100 system also fits into backup and archiving

applications. The disk array has achieved Veeam and Acronis

verifications of their backup and recovery software, enabling data

loss avoidance and high-speed recovery to mitigate risk and

dramatically reduce capital and operational costs for enterprises

and SMBs.

Hardware Offload Engine

AegisSAN V100 system for both iSCSI and FC models features

hardware offload engine, the proprietary OJSOE technology, which

adopts a dedicated CPU core to process the packets. With

hardware offload engine enabled, the read/write throughput can

be dramatically boosted as well as IOPS performance.

Data Protection Features

AegisSAN V100 disk array provides comprehensive

enterprise-grade data protection features. It has multiple RAID

level options, QSnap the writable snapshot function, volume

cloning, online disk roaming and instant volume restoration to

protect the all stored data. All the features are built-in to

AegisSAN V100 models. On the hardware level, the redundant

power supplies and fan modules allows good availability and

manageability to the system.

Value Add-ons

AegisSAN V100 system supports comprehensive virtualization

technologies including VMware VAAI, Citrix and Hyper-V. In

addition, it's equipped with 80 plus gold PSU to enhance the

power efficiency.

Available Models

The available products of the controller-based AegisSAN V100

series include the AegisSAN V100-P20 with two lOGbE iSCSI ports,

V100-P10 with six lGbE ports and V100-F30 with two 16G FC ports.

Each model has 3U 16-bay and 4U 24-bay form factor options.
