The Peterson 6830 Debarker is a dedicated chain flail

debarking machine designed for long-stem chipping

operations that require low bark or ash content. Designed

for multiple stems, or trees up to 30 inches (76 mm) in

diameter, the 6830 quickly and effectively debarks even

the hardest feedstock.

Powered by a fully enclosed Caterpillar C18 engine rated

at 765 hp (570 kW), the 6830 has the power to drive the 3

fail drums (a 4th flail is also available as an option).The two

nnnn

lower flails are fixed in location, and the upper flails float

nnnn

to match the log diameter.The 10-link flail chain is easily

nnnn

replaced through access doors.

The operator sits in a fully enclosed, weather-proof cab,

nnnn

and operates the machine through electronic joystick

nnnn

controls. The 6830 is available with either a Peterson 170 or

nnnn

220 log loader depending on the needs of your operation.

The large 60 inch (152 cm) wide, by 30 inch (76 cm) tall

nnnn

feed opening makes loading the 6830 easy.

Two floating feed heads, and five fixed lower feed rolls

nnnn

control the log through the debarking chamber, and two

nnnn

rolls assist the stems to exit the machine.The massive

nnnn

bark pusher removes the debarked debris to the side of

nnnn

the machine and can be configured to exit on either side

nnnn

depending on the needs of your operation.

The 6830 is controlled by an IQAN operating system,

nnnn

which provides the operator with all critical engine and

nnnn

performance parameters. When paired with the Peterson

nnnn

7900EL, the operator can control both machines.

When combined with a Peterson 7900EL Disc

Chipper, the 6830 is the ultimate in-field
