nnnnThe RS «Wireless emergency stop system» is designed to provide personnel
nnnnworking in a dangerous area with a means of stopping a machine in an
nnnnemergency.
nnnnThe system comprises a safety receiver, a transmitter and a charger support.
nnnnThe safety receiver has the following inputs and outputs:
nnnn• Depending on the application, one or two emergency stop inputs (ES), two-
nnnnchannel type, or one or two safety light barrier inputs (LB), type 4 per EN 61 496.
nnnn• A radio input associated to the emergency stop button on the transmitter
nnnnensuring a SIL3 safety level.
nnnn• Six static outputs associated to the function buttons on the transmitter.
nnnn• 3 static outputs for indication of the operating state
nnnn• Depending on the application, one or two inputs monitoring presence of
nnnnthe transmitter on the charger.
nnnn• Operating mode selector switches
nnnn- Automatic or manual start111
nnnn- Access to protected area with transmitter
nnnn(1) The manual mode can only be used provided the transmitter has been
nnnnremoved from the charger (charger contact open and self-checked).
nnnnThe transmitter is also equipped with function buttons enabling manual control
nnnnof a machine in downgraded mode. The operator can:
nnnn• Perform step by step adjustments by 2 pushbuttons
nnnn• Modulate a rotation speed by 2 pushbuttons
nnnn• Control handling of a component by 4 pushbuttons
nnnn• Select components by means of selector switches
nnnnSpecial care has been given to operator control ergonomics:
nnnn• Transmitter designed to enable one-hand control
nnnn• Buttons are easily accessible
nnnn• Touch sensitive buttons
nnnn• Identification of functions controlled
nnnn• Light weight, ultracompact transmitter
