This course is a 2-part course that includes the following:
Part 1 (Web-based) – HYTORC: Principles of Safe Bolting: A Review of Tools and Methods uses high-quality graphics, animation, and video to introduce you to principles of bolted joints, the proper handling of tools, and some of the best
methods for achieving good results while staying SAFE! Follow along as Bubba the Bolt guides you through the following
topics:

Bolted joints
Tightening with torque
Tool operation
The Web-based course costs $7 and is approximately 1 hour and 45 minutes in length.

Part 2 (Instructor-led) – HYTORC: Safe Bolting Hands-On Training uses a hands-on approach to teach you how to
safely operate hydraulic tools and pumps and to recognize specific safety concerns associated with the use of hydraulic
wrenches and high-pressure hydraulic systems.
The hands-on course is available at NO COST at your location and is approximately 4 hours in length.

Students have 30 days to complete the hands-on training after taking the computer-based training (CBT). The instructor
will verify that the CBT has been taken before class begins. If a student takes the hands-on training prior to taking the
CBT, the CBT portion of the training must be taken within 7 days to fulfill the requirements of the course.
AUDIENCE
First-line mechanical operators (millwrights, pipe fitters, and those from other disciplines who deal with mechanical joints
as part of their daily work) and those who supervise their work.
