Radioisotope Fume Hoods
UniFlow Radioisotope fume hoods are available in 48”, 60”, & 72” widths. Interior is constructed of welded type
304 stainless steel to prevent absorption of radioactive and corrosive materials. Stainless steel bafe is
removable for ease of cleaning. Work surface is welded integral to the fume chamber and reinforced to support
heavy isotope shielding materials.

Angled Picture Frame Opening the aerodynamic face opening with stainless steel air foil provides
uniform air ow into the fume chamber.
Vertical Sash to be counterbalanced connected
with coated stainless steel cables, 3/16” tempered
safety glass with stainless steel framing track, pull,
and aerodynamic sash lift.
Air Foil & Worksurface are constructed of
type 304 stainless steel.
Sash Stop constructed of stainless
steel and located at 1/2 open sash height
or to suit your specic requirements.

Air Flow Monitor continuously monitors face velocity
airflow, analog or digital available. Meets ANSI and OSHA
requirements. Optional equipment.
Fume Chamber surface is type 304 stainless
steel, # 4 satin nish.
VaraFlow Bafe System maintains
uniform airow thru the fume chamber to exhaust
collar outlet.

RADIOISOTOPE EXHAUST BLOWERS & FILTERS
Radioisotope Exhaust Blowers
HEMCO offers specialty exhaust blowers to
safely and efficiently vent radioisotope fume
hoods. Blowers are sized based on the hood
size and length of ducting.
Fume Hood Face Velocity cfm
Sash in full open position should be for setup of
apparatus & maintenance service only. If design
opening is at 1/2 open at 100 fpm (feet per minute),
face velocity at full open would be approximately
50 fpm.
The recommended face velocity for
efciency & safety should be 80-100 fpm.
Lower face velocity may compromise user safety.
Radioisotope Filters
Bag-In/Bag-Out filtration systems to meet
specific exhaust requirements. carbon filters are
used to absorb fumes and HEPA filters are used
to collect particulate.
