CONTEXT

This system is particularly interesting not only for its heat management and cold production possibilities, but also for its autonomy. Based on the heat transfer of reversible chemical reactions, of the type of chloride ammonia, this process responds to environmental concerns whether it is about the protection of the ozone layer or the control of the greenhouse effect: it does not use any CFC, HCFC fluids or any other substitutes banned by international agreements. This process offers an alternative and different solution in order to satisfy the growing need of mobility, quality and reliability. >

THERMOCHEMICAL SYSTEM

PHASE 1 : COLD PRODUCTION This process is based on the transformation by evaporation of liquid ammonia which then reacts with salts. The basic system comprises two elements, an evaporator containing liquid ammonia and a reactor containing reactive salts. By opening the valve, the ammonia stored in the evaporator evaporates which causes the cold production. The ammonia gas is fixed by the solid salts in the reactor. This reaction provokes heat production. This is phase 1. Evaporation temperature can reach -30C and absorption temperature more than 100аC. >

The reactor contains the solid in which the ammonia is trapped in. It is sufficient to bring in heat in order to start the recharging phase of the system. The current applications dispose of a heating resistance which causes the desporption of ammonia gas which them will condensate into the evaporator. At the end of this phase, the cycle can restart again. >
