Surface Box Benefits

The EBCO Plastic Surface Box is a unit that when combined
with the EBCO Top Hat units will suit any 200mm or 250mm
diameter guard tube chamber. EBCO lids are available in
either lockable or snap shut alternatives and are moulded
from high grade engineering plastics that are light weight for
easy handling and tough and robust for long life. The lid’s
surface pattern provides excellent grip and surface wear
properties and exceeds the requirements of BS5834 Part 2,
grade C, capable of withstanding a 51/2 tonne vertical load.

The non slip surface box
incorporates a gavvanised steel
detection plate and hinges
open to provide a working
aperture of 180mm x 147mm for
ease of access to the meter

quick procedure without the need
for expensive excavation or
reinstatement.

Lockable Lids
In many areas security is an essential
consideration when installing boundary
boxes. For this reason EBCO have
developed a lockable lid that can be
quickly and easily be opened and
secured using a pair of simple quarter
turn locking pins.

of final height adjustment
Top Hat Adaptors of available
Suits the majority

The EBCO range of top hat adaptors
provide a transition between any 200mm
diameter boundary box guard tube and
the EBCO range of surface boxes or
most other types of surface boxes.
These units can provide up to 150mm
of height adjustment and 5° of tilt in
any direction making alignment with
pavement gradients simple.

Snap Shut Lids
Ease and speed of access to the
chamber once installed is essential to
reduce operating and meter reading
costs. The standard EBCO sealed snap
shut lid provides a safe and clean
environment for the meter whilst being
easy to open and close without the
need for special tools. The snap shut
closing feature also helps to eliminate
potential trip hazards to pavements and
walk ways

For ease of installation EBCO can supply
the EBCO Top Hat and the EBCO plastic
surface box combined as a ready
assembled item, securely attached to
each other making installation easy.
