Application
The GBR is a state of the art remote control system for
gas fires. It is only available to appliance manufacturers,
who will need to obtain regulatory certification of their
appliance, with the GBR fitted. The GBR is certified
under EC/03/024.
Physical Description
The GBR consists of four component parts:
A Solenoid Operated Gas Valve
A Battery Holder
An Electronic Control Module
A Remote Control Unit
Normally, initial configuration of the GBR to a new
appliance is carried out as follows:
The appliance manufacturer makes a sample appliance
available to the Teddington Engineering Design team.
The GBR is fitted to the appliance, and the combined
equipment tested for reliable operation.
Operation
Operation of the GBR is straightforward. With the fire
installed, and batteries fitted to the battery box and the
remote control unit, turn on the gas supply. Press the
Ignition buttons on the Remote Control Unit. The fire will
beep in acknowledgement, and the fire will light in full
power mode.
The GBR system allows four settings of heat output and
the actual selection is made from the Remote Control
Unit. Single presses of the appropriate button activate
selection of high or low settings.
To select the 'Medium High' setting, press the 'High'
button twice. To select 'Medium Low' setting, press the
'Low' button twice. To switch off the fire, press 'Turn Fire
Off' once.
The GBR has a sophisticated fault reporting system,
which provides tone codes in response to key presses on
the Remote Control Unit. This is explained fully in the
User Guide, provided with each unit.
