nnnnIn an effort to increase production and reduce
nnnncosts, the Venezuelan national oil company PDVSA
nnnnrecently purchased a new interface module, which
nnnnwill allow them to communicate between Allen-
nnnnBradley ControlLogix using DF1 and the HART
nnnnprotocol. Approximately 40 new HART Multidrop (8
nnnnchannel) Serial Port Interface Modules from ProLinx
nnnnCommunication Gateways, Inc. will be installed in their
nnnncrude oil production units in eastern Venezuela.
nnnnThe ProLinx HART modules allow up to 8 channels
nnnnof multidrop HART communications (theoretical
nnnnsupport for up to 120 instruments such as Mass Flow
nnnnMeters, Differential Pressure Transmitters, Absolute
nnnnPressure Transmitters and Temperature Transmitters).
nnnnIt also provides full access to the digital configuration,
nnnndiagnostics and maintenance information in each
nnnnconnected transmitter.
nnnn"Since the ProLinx 4127 HART module allows one DF1
nnnnport to connect to 8 HART channels, this interface
nnnnprovides maximum efficiency for HART networks,"
