The Trimble® Aardvark DR+GPS

combines dead reckoning (DR)

nnnn

with GPS to produce accurate and

nnnn

instantaneous positions, even under

the most difficult conditions. For

service providers tracking high-

value or perishable cargo, Aardvark

nnnn

DR+GPS dramatically improves

nnnn

quality of service (QoS). Dead

nnnn

reckoning (DR) estimates position

nnnn

based on heading and distance

nnnn

traveled since the last known

nnnn

position. The more accurate the

nnnn

speed, time and heading inputs, the

nnnn

more accurate the dead reckoning.

This is where GPS helps. GPS

nnnn

continuously calibrates the gyro

nnnn

and speed sensors to produce

nnnn

optimal dead reckoning. Aardvark

nnnn

DR+GPS has an on-board gyro

nnnn

sensor and accepts inputs from an

nnnn

odometer pulse and a forward/

nnnn

reverse indicator. Its sophisticated

nnnn

DR+GPS algorithm autocalibrates

nnnn

these sensors and optimally blends

nnnn

the sensor inputs and GPS to

nnnn

produce accurate position and

nnnn

velocity outputs in the most hostile

nnnn

GPS environments.

The Aardvark DR+GPS comes in two

flavors: the -30 that must be flat

nnnn

mounted and the -50 that can be

nnnn

mounted in any orientation.

The -50 version contains a three axis

gyro and sophisticated algorithms

to self-calibrate. This allows the

module to be mounted in any

nnnn

orientation on your vehicle and still

output the highest quality position

and velocity measurements.
