360° ELECTROMAGNETIC SHIELDING
Smiths Connectors M23 series, are ideal for motor-drive applications,
including machine tools, robots, conveyor systems, handling machines
and elevators, etc. They all feature outstanding protection against
electromagnetic interference through a full 360° screen connection.

CRIMP TERMINATION
The adoption of crimp contacts allows for a consistent high quality
connection and reduces the total installation time of a connector
by minimising the number of operations. M23 connectors can be
supplied with either machined or stamped contacts and therefore
a hand-operated or fully automatic crimping process can be used.
Stamped contacts are supplied on a reel and feature an open crimp
barrel design, making them ideal for higher volume applications
requiring a fully automated process. Machined contacts feature a

closed barrel design ideally suited for manual hand tools. By their
very nature, open barrel crimp contacts can accommodate a wider
range of wire gauges and therefore they can also be used to limit the
number of contact types required on applications containing mixed
cable sizes.

HYPERTAC HYPERBOLOID CONTACT
Hyperboloid contact technology is ideally suited for use in harsh
and demanding environments where high reliability and safety are
critical. The electrical and mechanical characteristics of the contact
ensure unrivalled performance in terms of reliability, number of
mating cycles, low contact forces and electrical stability over time.
These performance characteristics provide a real commercial benefit
in terms of the total installed cost of ownership.
