The Ashcroft B-Series switch line is

Thermowells

nnnn

Thermowells must be used on any appli-

nnnn

cation where the stem of the temperature

nnnn

switch may be exposed to pressure, cor-

nnnn

rosive fluids or high velocity. Additionally

nnnn

the use of a thermowell permits instrument

nnnn

interchange or calibration check without

nnnn

disturbing or closing down the process.

nnnn

Ashcroft temperature switches have

nnnn

bulb diameters to match %" nominal bore

nnnn

thermowells. The bulbs have a sensitive

nnnn

portion length of 2" which can be used

nnnn

with 21/2""U" dimensioned thermowells or

nnnn

longer. For maximum accuracy, a thermo-

nnnn

well's "U" dimension should be selected

nnnn

to permit complete immersion of the sen-

nnnn

sitive portion plus 1" when measuring the

nnnn

temperature of liquids; an extra 3" should

nnnn

be allowed when measuring the temper-

nnnn

ature of gases.

Thermowell bushings should be used

nnnn

with remote mount temperature switches.

nnnn

We recommend the standard 3" bulb and

nnnn

code 69 Series bushings for use with any

nnnn

thermowell "U" dimension. A split rubber

nnnn

grommet allows easy installation and "S"

nnnn

dimension adjustment.
